Endoscopy is used to help diagnose Upper Airway Adnormalities by visual inspection and Lower Airway Disease with the use of transtracheal washes, cultures, bronchoaveolar lavage. Visual inspection can help diagnose Entrapments, Roars, Displaced Soft Palates, etc.  Lung secretions are aspirated to search for bacteria and inflammatory cells in the lungs. Some of the airway diseases that can be diagnosed are Small Airway Inflammatory Disease ("Heaves") and Exercise Induced Pulmonary Hemmorhage ("Bleeders").

Endoscopy is a great tool to be used during a Pre-Purchase Exam.
