Kent Veterinary Center offers an outstanding farrier service that includes Shaun Lovell, Timmy Warrington and Jamie Secoura. Our experienced farriers offer their own specialties including; racing, laminitis, corrective shoeing, trimming, angular limb deformities in foals, and more to help us better serve our clients.
Shaun Lovell

Beginning his career in his home country of South Africa Shaun Lovell was offered a farrier apprenticeship in 1996 with one of the leading professionals in the industry. There he shod a variety of horses from Thoroughbred Racing to Show Jumping, Dressage and general pleasure.
After some time spent traveling he settled in California where he began assisting some professionals in the Show Jumper, Hunter Jumper and Dressage sphere’s. He then went on to starting his own practice where he built a business around the Los Angeles, Malibu and Ventura area.
In 2005, Shaun returned to South Africa where he teamed up with one of the largest Farrier companies in the country, Strong & Durrant. There he began applying his services to a number of top trainers, namely Mike DeKock – Multiple South African champion and winner of the Dubai world cup as well as Charles Laird – South African champion trainer. During this period Shaun shod multiple group 1 race winners across the country and in 2015 Rich Girl, the winner of Africa’s richest horserace for trainer Charles Laird. Also, in 2014 Shaun shod Kochca, the champion 2 year old of South Africa for trainer Allison Wright. Not only did he specialize in Thoroughbred racing but also a variety of Show Jumper, Dressage and pleasure horses.

With a great love for the USA, he has now relocated and set base in Pennsylvania where he started Saffa Farrier Services Incorporated. He is now focusing more on the sport and pleasure horse worlds where he can best apply his wealth of experience in the form of a quality and therapeutic practice.
Timmy Warrington

Timmy Warrington of Galena, Maryland had the pleasure of completing farrier training under his well-accomplished uncle, Eddie Warrington. After completing training Timmy began traveling all over to provide excellent farrier services. Timmy has provided services from Chicago to Maine, and even Toronto, Canada. His primary focus is shoeing Standardbred racetrack horses but also has a plethora of knowledge in angular limb deformities of foals and pleasure horses.

Timmy has partnered with Dr. Tubman for over 30 years, providing her clients with outstanding farrier service.
Jamie Secoura CJF
JS Farrier Service
Jamie Secoura of Millersville, Maryland completed a farrier training program at the Kentucky Horseshoeing School in Richmond, Kentucky in 2011. After school Jamie became an apprentice farrier with Alpha Farrier Service in Columbia,MD under the guidance of Mike Poe CJF AWCF. In 2013 Jamie completed a one year farrier internship in Equine Podiatry at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (VMCVM) in Blacksburg, VA. After completion she remained at the VMCVM as a Resident Farrier through 2015 where she worked under Travis Burns CJF TE EE FWCF and Dr. Scott Pleasant DVM. During her time at the VMCVM she became one of less than 20 women to become a Certified Journeyman Farrier with the American Farrier’s Association .
Currently Jamie operates her own farrier service based out of Anne Arundel County in Maryland where she works with horses of all breeds and disciplines. She specializes in cases requiring specialty (therapeutic) techniques with her unique skills in hand making shoes as well as using glue on shoes.
