I have known Dr. Judy Tubman for almost two decades as a fellow fox hunter, a veterinarian, and a friend. It doesn’t take long to discover that Dr. Tubman is related to the energizer bunny! Somehow she regularly fits extra hours into a 24 hour day.
As my vet she is direct, doesn’t pull punches to get her point across and…. In my experiences…. Dang if she hasn’t been right . On the other hand, when applicable Dr. Tubman gives options and choices always putting the animal’s needs first but aware of the financial impact of treatments. I haul my horses, cats, and dog from Fair Hill to the KVC clinic for routine care, injuries and other concerns.
Doctor T brought my two foals into the world, correctly predicted the sex of both foals, and had them started with halters and manners from Day One. On the other end, she helped my beloved golden retriever and my Connemara mare cross the Rainbow Bridge with empathy for all of us.
I have highly recommended Dr. Tubman to my friends and those who truly want high quality care for all their fur-baby animals.

"Judy has provided veterinary services for my horses and small animals for well over 16 years. I respect and admire her ambition, knowledge and desire to share her knowledge with her clients and the surrounding community. Judy has never stopped learning. I can count on her to be up to date on the latest proven and experimental modalities in veterinary medicine. She is never afraid to seek a second opinion and knows when care can best be provided by a full blown veterinary hospital. She has seen me through some of the worst things an animal lover can experience all with grace and compassion. I highly recommend Judy and her staff for veterinary care of any size animal."

"It is difficult to have one's beloved horses so far away from them, but when you know you have a careful, concerning and extremely experienced eye looking over them, it alleviates a lot of the worry. I have known Dr. Judy Tubman for almost four years and she treats and cares for my horses as though they were her own.
She takes an interest to get to know each horse and its needs, personally. She is always accessible, easy to talk to and has a wonderful way of explaining often complicated issues so that I can understand. I feel so fortunate to have Dr. Tubman as my veterinarian - she is the main reason why my horses have retired where they are."

"It's a pleasure to work with Dr Tubman from Kent Veterinary Clinic the last few years. Her knowledge in foaling and Mare reproduction is remarkable. Her veterinary care for race horses is spot-on, in dealing with lameness issues. Her knowledge was a big part in Iron Mine Bucky's Major stake career, including the Hambletonian, Yonkers trot and the list goes on. I'm very picky with my horses, but trust her 100% and highly recommend her to anybody."

"One of the things we appreciate most about Dr. Tubman is the time she takes to educate her clients. Whether on a farm call, over the phone, or in free classes that she offers to keep her clients as up to date and informed as possible on topics such as providing top notch nutrition, cutting edge farrier care, and preventative screening for conditions such as EMS and PPID."
"Dr. Tubman has been our veternarian for over fourteen years. We have needed her for lameness issues, ppid ,surgical procedures for wounds, colic, spring and fall shots, routine blood work, dental extractions and routine care of teeth. The list goes on and this is just for the horses. Our cats and dog love having her come to the farm and she is always professional and caring. Dr. Judy always takes the time to explain things and stays current with her education. Our animals have all benefitted from her excellent care."

"I just wanted to let the horse world know about how very very satisfied I am/was with Dr. Tubman as my equine veterinarian. I was a client for more than 15 years until I recently moved to South Carolina. Dr. Tubman' facility, although small and straightforward, has all the bells and whistles of a big facility.
Fortunately, I never needed to utilize the surgical services of the Doctor. However, Dr. Judy did treat a cancerous lesion on my gelding's muzzle, perform great dental services for my three horses, attended to their semi annual shot needs and the most serious diagnosis and treatment was the X-Ray and consultation with my farrier to ensure a smooth treatment recovery process for founder of my gelding. I can't say enough about how she was always there for me, answering the calls and texts left promptly.
I completely recommend her services."

"My geldings arrived at Dr. Tubman's farm in the fall of 2016. They had lived on our New England farm for 18 years. The adjustments they had to make, from our backyard care to a strange (to them) boarding stable, people and routines, and from northern weather to Eastern Shore humidity and heat, were challenging indeed. Both were over 25 years old. Both had Cushing's and had suffered laminitis episodes in the past.
Dr. Tubman evaluated their condition and, with the help of her excellent staff, stabilized them and guided their healthcare through the winter so that, come the following spring, that could easily withstand the long journey back north to their current home in Maine."

"Dr.Tubman has been my veterinarian for over five years. I called Dr. Tubman because two veterinarians were unable to diagnose my horses' lameness. Following Dr. Tubman's diagnostics and radiographs, she was able to determine the cause as early onset navicular disease. She diagnosed medication and corrective shoeing, and my horse has been sound for the past two years now.

I can’t say enough about how grateful I am to have such a fantastic vet on the Eastern shore.
Her attention to detail and ability to stay up-to-date with the latest knowledge on equine medicine, is fantastic.
She takes an interest to get to know each horse and its needs personally and is always accessible. She is also easy to talk to and has a way of explaining complicated issues so that anyone can understand.
I feel so fortunate to have Dr. Tubman as my veterinarian."

"We have been a client of Dr. Tubman' s for over 20 years. She is very thorough to the point and doesn't judge. She has always been there for us even at a moment's notice.
And added bonus, she and her staff can not only take care of our horses, but our dogs, cat and goats too! Wouldn't go anywhere else."

"Kent Veterinary Center is wonderful! My horse had a sudden on set of colic on December 18, 2017. I was on my way home from work and I could see her down in my field. She was fine when I left for work that morning. I went to her and was clear she wasn't going to make it. I was not a patient of Dr Tubman's at the time. I called my vet and told them it was bad and I needed them there to euthanize her to end her suffering. They "couldn't" make it out. I then called another local Centreville Veterinarian and was told sorry I can't help you. We then called Dr. Tubman. I explained what was going on and I needed to end her suffering. She came right out, examined her to confirm my conclusion. She explain the procedure she was performing and what to expect. She was incredibly kind. She is our vet now and recommend her highly. I also received a card from her and her staff. 5 out 5 stars for her practice."
